Well, I'm calling it quits from DeviantArt's Stock Resources Program.
DeviantArt makes it agonizingly painful to upload stock photos. DA does not allow batch-uploading of large images - the sort that are needed by other artists. This ties the uploader to his/her computer for long periods of time... time which could better be spendt edditing the next batch of images to upload. You can never be sure whether, after a lengthy wait period, the upload is completed or has merely spun off into the cybervoid and must be started again from scratch. (I have a high speed cable connection... I pity the poor schlub who is still using dial-up who is trying to donate images!) Rather than providing stock uploaders with a useful toolset with which to help other artists, issues like creating "Module type function for layout and add-ons" and "Support for RSS feeds" seem to be more important.
When technoglitz is more desirable than fundamentals, something is fundamentally wrong.
Folks who provide free stock photos are not here merely to show off their work... they are uploading material for the benefit of the DA community as a whole. Regretfully the single greatest impediment to the process is DA itself.

This is a world of dreams and reverie
Where I felt the stars explode around me
A grass blade flashed with a gleam as it slashed open a moonbeam,
And I stared back breathlessly....
A strawberry avalanche crashed over me

Thank you.
